We are a charity intent on the protection and preservation of the environment by promoting an increased repair and reuse culture here in Haringey, North London.

We have been holding regular Repair Cafés (education/fixing/skill swapping/upcycling events) in Haringey since April 2022. We held our first training event in August 2025

Our Volunteers offer local residents advice/help on how best to mend cherished broken/faulty household items. We enable local residents to join the community repair movement by sharing their expertise and learning from one another. By collaborating using ‘troubleshooting’, we help fix around half of what is brought in.

We are community-led. Our Board of Trustees follow the lead set by our members, usually at each Annual General Meeting by means of a vote. Our members (join here, free) set our direction and can remove\appoint Trustees.

Timeline

A group of us got together in 2022 to plan a pilot test – six repair cafés, once a month (April to September) in two adjacent venues

It was a great success so we decided to become a charity: here is our UK Charity Commission Register Entry

After lots of discussion, consultation and thought, we decided, as a non-profit Charitable Incorporated Organisation, to describe our governing mission as:

Our response to these challenges is enact the strategy our members direct our Trustees to carry out at our AGMs.

The most visible activity we undertake is to hold a Repair Café more or less every weekend, generally at a community centre near you on a Saturday or Sunday once month at each venue. Here’s a selection of what people have brought in for help repairing.

Here’s a snapshot of some of our repair data, showing how much has been fixed so far.

Here is a list of all our forthcoming Repair Cafés and workshops. Why not step forward and volunteer\work with us?
